The PRAXIS Study

You may be eligible if you:

• Are a prenatal provider (e.g., physician, midwife, nurse practioner) done with training
• Practice in the United States

First you have to fill out a short screening form, which includes providing an email address. If you are eligible, a link to the survey will be emailed to you.

The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Most of the questions are required, but you can skip other questions that you do not want to answer. You can also stop the survey at any time.

There are minimal risks of participating. Possible risks include:

• Anxiety while completing study questionnaires: Some of the questions you will be asked may cause you to feel uncomfortable or cause you anxiety. You may skip any questions that you do not feel comfortable answering or stop at any time.
• Confidentiality: Participation in research may involve a loss of privacy, but information about you will be handled as confidentially as possible. No identifying information will be used in any published reports about this study

Yes! After being screened as eligible and completing the entire survey, you will receive either a $20 Visa gift card. (It can be an electronic or physicial card depending on your preference.)

Compensation will not be provided to those who are  for incomplete surveys. 

At the end of the survey, you will also have the option to volunteer for a follow up virtual interview. If selected and you complete a 30-45 minute interview, you will receive a $75 Visa gift card.

• Do they self-identify as African American/Black?
• Are they 18-55 years of age?
• Have they delivered in the past 12 months or are currently pregnant?
• Do they live in the United States?

If yes to all of the above, they may be eligible to enroll!

• If you have a patient that you believe is eligible to enroll, please ask the patient if you can share their name and contact information with the PRAXIS Study team  to discuss the study AND/OR provide them with our PRAXIS Study website (PRAXIS.ucsf.edu) or email ([email protected]). 
• You may share the patient contact information by emailing [email protected]. 

While it is not required by us as long as you obtain verbal permission from your patient, you may document in the medical record that the patient has given permission to share their information. If you would prefer to have them sign indicating their consent, below is a template form that you can use.
